Mission Trips

Mission Trip to Guatemala

A mission trip is being planned for the later part of June 2013 – early July to go to Antigua, Guatemala. There you will build a house for a poor Guatemalan family, serve at a soup kitchen, provide child care at a malnutrition center, and help with distribution of clothing to poor families. We will also collect used children’s clothing to take with us on the trip. Working through God’s Child Project, we will stay in homes of Guatemalan families and learn about the history and culture of Guatemala. We may also do work projects for a Lutheran retreat center in Antigua. Please come to an informational meeting about the trip on Monday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Traver Center.  The purpose of this trip is to serve Christ and share his love, to learn about another culture, and to get to know others from our church. We estimate the cost to be around $1,500 per person, but we plan to have fundraisers to help defray the expenses. If you are interested in this mission, come to the next meeting on Monday, September 24th at 7:00 p.m. in Traver Center. Any youth over the age of 16 and adults are welcome.
